Full job description
Primary Functions:
- Build a high performing accounting team by coaching and developing staff to ensure they are knowledgeable of best practices and deliver top notch results.
- Develop short-term and long-term goals and objectives for the accounting department in consultation with management, and measure performance using key performance indicators (KPI’s).
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reports.
- Conduct variance analysis (actual vs. budget/forecast) and provide clear, insightful explanations to management.
- Maintain the general ledger and journal entries.
- Perform month, quarter and year end close on a timely basis.
- Assist with treasury management and oversee bank accounts.
- Oversee the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Ensure all accounting practices are in compliance with legal guidelines and generally accepted accounting principles.
- Recommend, develop and implement policies and procedures.
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process for the business unit, working closely with department heads to set realistic financial targets.
- Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making, capital expenditure projects, and long-term business planning.
- Collaborate with other departments to create and maintain internal controls and policies.
- Research and identify solutions to discrepancies in financial records.
- Manage audits, assist auditors and gather documentation as needed.
- Champion safety, company culture and ethics.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- Seven or more years of progressively responsible accounting and finance experience, including experience in a manufacturing environment
- Prior leadership experience preferred
- Must be able to perform the physical demands of the job such as:
- Safely navigating a manufacturing environment
- Occasional lifting up to 15 lbs
- Extended periods of sitting; occasional standing and walking
- Using computer, phone and office equipment
